Ron Powers and James Bradley’s bestseller Flags of our Fathers has found some glorious takers in Clint Eastwood, Steven Spielberg and Rob Lorenz who are producing the movie slated for an October release.
Clint Eastwood does the directorial honors. The movie is about the bloody battle on Iwo Jima in the Pacific Ocean at the close of World War II and the heroic victory of the American soldiers and their subsequent life and times. The screenplay adaptation is by William Broyles Junior (Castaway) and Paul Haggis (Million Dollar Baby).
